SQL Monitor by RED GATE - No monitor and no support

Amazing how some companies seem to forget (or maybe just decide to ignore) the fact that the software business is volatile. A software company is just as good as it's habillity to provide support and solve customer issues.

As I started as a DBA in a new company, I decided to present a few solutions for visual database management, and one of them was SQL Monitor by RED GATE SOFTWARE.

What a deception!

I installed the solution in two different machines using Windows 8.1 64 Bits, and SQL SERVER Express 2012 Express. Both installations failed.




I accessed RED GATE's support website, and issued a bug ticket #27995. I just accessed this bug issue and it is reporting as "non-existing".

What a deception! I will never recommend such a buggie software or a company that is so unqualified when it comes to support its own solutions.

Thank god there are so many other solutions in the market such as IDERA Tools and SQL Centry. Let's try those and see what cats come out of those sacks.
